Why support Ritz Fest?

Help end the SILENT EPIDEMIC!

💔According to the CDC’s WISQARS National Data Report from 2019, suicide is the third leading cause of death of 10-24 year olds in South Carolina.

💔In the United States, South Carolina ranks 27th in the nation in suicide rates, 18th in suicides in ages 12-19, and 29th in drug-related suicides.

💔According to Cams Care, Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in South Carolina.

💔Everyday in South Carolina 2 people die of suicide. Every 2 1/2 days, one of those deaths is a young person.

💜 South Carolina is one of 21 states that passed The Jason Flatt Act, mandating training for South Carolina's middle and high school educators in suicide awareness and prevention.

South Carolina's ONLY music festival benefiting the Jason Foundation!

Through theater performances, short films and live music, our music festival in Newberry aims to raise funds for the Jason Foundation to help end the silent epidemic of youth suicide.

Newberry, South Carolina is the location for our main event in February!

The Ritz Theater on 1513 Main Street is the home of our upcoming music festival, always held on the first Saturday in February. Be sure to check out the Newberry Community Players' webpage to learn about all the great events throughout the year. We are a non-profit under their registered  501(c3); EIN 57-0605450

Proceeds are donated to the Jason Foundation.

We have dedicated proceeds from this great live music festival  to go to The Jason Foundation (JFI), who use ~98% of their donations to go to programming to help teachers and others who work with youth to recognize signs to help prevent the silent epidemic of youth suicide.

To date, we have donated over $30,000 to JFI!

The Ritz Fest '27 fundraising season has begun! Help us raise money for The Jason Foundation through our Teasers throughout the year and our night (TBD) at the Newberry Opera House. Proceeds from Ritz Fest (Saturday, 6 February 2027) will go to Love Like Alissa, which  empowers youth through sports and inspires leadership and camaraderie.

Here's how we hope to raise money to support these worthy causes:

  • sales from tickets, concessions, raffles, and silent auction,
  • cash donations during our events,
  • and your generous donations directly to JFI. Click the donate button at the top of this page or go to our FAQ page to learn how to make a donation TODAY!
